Use our file download calculator to estimate file download or transfer speeds. We offer this tool to assist in determining which connection speed meets your needs. Actual
transfer speeds will be slower than these times due to latency. If the results of your file transfer are in hours, you may want to consider looking at T1 Service Providers available at your location.

Low T1 Rates has been proud to be affiliated with Telarus, Inc since March 2003.
"A significant portion of the instant price quotes, associations with upper level Carrier Managers and support implementation staffing are directly due to solid relationships that Telarus, Inc. has forged with national tier 1 providers". Bob Horan, CEO of LowT1Rates further adds "Their significant industry innovative presence in the Telecommunications market place is a key element how Low T1 Rates can pass additional savings to clients, normally unobtainable if a client contacts a provider directly, and a cornerstone to our agency's success to continually surpass the traditional "off the rack" quotes others generate".
"It is my pleasure to announce the Telecom Association's 2007 Presidents' Choice Award for Innovation: Telarus, Inc. Your technology and creativity far exceed all of the competition."

Ethernet quite simply is, plugging your network directly into a telecom provider's network. When you bypass the local phone company you cut out an expensive transport step. Having direct access to customers is a carrier's goal as it allows them to control the user's experience from end to end while reducing cost. These savings are passed on to you.
The growing number of complex, mission-critical applications of today need more and more bandwidth than that offered by existing network configurations. The typical 10 Mbps Ethernet LAN becomes inadequate because it cannot maintain acceptable performance for the Client/Server environment. As audio and streaming video becomes increasingly important, the networked world needed to find a faster technology to accommodate bandwidth demands. Even though Fast Ethernet, which runs at at 100 Mbps, arrived at the networking arena in the mid 1990's, the existence of Fiber Optics or FDDI (1 Gbps) is running at the carriers backbone level. Thus, the evolution of Gigabit Ethernet took place, providing a technology solution to the increasing bandwidth problem.

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- Internet telephone company Vonage Holdings Corp. was ordered in federal court Tuesday to pay Sprint Nextel $69.5 million in damages for infringing on six telecommunications patents owned by Sprint Nextel Corp.
Vonage said in a written statement that it would appeal the decision but also would begin developing workarounds so it won't need to use the disputed technology.
"We are disappointed that the jury did not recognize that our technology differs from that of Sprint's patents, "said Sharon O'Leary, chief legal officer for Vonage. "Our top priority is to provide high-quality, reliable digital phone service to our customers."
Three Republican U.S. senators on Thursday called on Congress to pass a permanent Internet tax ban before a moratorium expires Nov. 1
But Senator John Sununu, a New Hampshire Republican, argued Thursday that a permanent ban is needed. If there's a problem with bundled services, that can be worked out in the bill, he said.
The Internet is "critically important to interstate and global commerce," Sununu said. "It makes no sense to have a national and global communications and business network to be subject to taxes by every state, city and county in the country."
How to flee SunRocket - For the benefit of those with SunRocket and are about to lose their service. Pick a non-Indie this time around as your next carrier even if it costs you a few bucks more. More industry fallout is expected this year!

Speakeasy this morning has announced that the broadband provider has been acquired by electronics retail giant Best Buy for $97 million. Founded in 1994, Speakeasy started in Seattle as an Internet cafe. They made a name for themselves as a national customer-focused and community-friendly broadband provider. Gamers in particular flocked to their service in the late nineties.
Best Buy is insisting that nothing will change -- though given the philosophical chasm between the two companies we find it hard to believe. "We have a high regard for Speakeasy's employees, their culture, and their valued relationships with customers and vendors," says Best Buy CFO Darren Jackson. "They have a strong customer service-oriented approach, which is an excellent fit with Best Buy's culture and direction."
